Between 1966 and 1973 he released five studio albums and numerous singles. During this period, Croce took a series of odd jobs to pay bills while he continued to write, record and perform concerts. He was born in 1943 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in 1973 at the Natchitoches Regional Airport in Natchitoches, Louisiana. This compilation album became a platinum-certified album and reached #2 on the Charts.

They originally called themselves The Four Graduates, because all had just graduated from high school in Paterson, New Jersey. Much of their success came as a cover band playing classic songs in a unique style. The group's concept was to take a song that's already proven it could be a hit and put their spin on it. The group had 9 Billboard Hot 100 Singles hits from 1966-1968. They garnered a couple of gold records.

The group had several Top 40 hits beginning in 1965 with their cover version of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe". They first achieved success with a sound that fused folk and rock. The band would achieve greater success performing pop. They scored their biggest and best-known hit in 1967 with the song "Happy Together". The band dissolved in 1970. In 2010 a reconstituted version of the band began performing live shows again. "Golden Hits" is the first compilation album by the Turtles. It was released on White Whale Records in 1967.

This album showed a progression from straightforward rock towards folk and acoustic music. The band wrote most of the material themselves. This album was one of the most anticipated of 1970 and its shipping date was held up by the intricate inner sleeve design based around a volvelle (concentric paper or parchment circles used in medieval Europe to calculate the phases of the sun and moon) with numerous images visible through holes in the outer cover. It was an immediate success and topped the US and UK charts.

It was also the second and final Who studio album with drummer Kenney Jones, as well as the last to be released on Warner Bros. Records in the US. The album achieved gold status in the US in November 1982. It was their last album for over 2 decades until Endless Wire in 2006.

Rolling Stone magazine described them as the biggest band of the Seventies. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. "Coda" is the first compilation album by Led Zeppelin and was a collection of unused tracks from various sessions during their twelve year career. It was released November 19, 1982 almost 2 years after the group had officially disbanded following the death of drummer John Bonham. The word Coda, meaning a passage that ends a musical piece following the main body, was therefore chosen as the title.
