The Band was a Canadian - American rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario, in 1967. Also known as Levon and the Hawks, Canadian Squires and The Crackers the band consisted of 4 Canadians and 1 American. The Band combined elements of Americana, folk rock, jazz, country and R&B influencing subsequent musicians such as the Eagles, Elton John, The Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Wilco. The Band began performing as the Band in 1968 and went on to release 10 studio albums. They were "the band" to various frontmen and the locals in Woodstock. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked them 50th on the list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. "Running on Empty", is the fifth album by Browne, released on December 6, 1977, featuring songs themed around life on the road. The entire album was recorded on tour, either live on stage or in locations associated with touring such as backstage on the tour buses or in hotel rooms. The album reached #3 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart in 1978 and stayed on the charts for 65 weeks. the single for the title track, "Running On Empty" peaked at #11 and the follow-up single "The Load-Out"/ "Stay" reached #20 on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart. The album received two Grammy Award nominations in 1979, one for Album of the year and the other for Pop Male Vocal Performance for the song "Running On Empty".

"Abbey Road", is the eleventh studio album released by the Beatles on September 26, 1969 in the United Kingdom and October 1, 1969 in the US. This album reached #1 in both the UK and the US. This is the last album the group started recording although "Let It Be" was the last album complete before the band's dissolution in April 1970. "Abby Road" incorporates genres such as blues, pop and progressive rock and made prominent use of the moog synthesizer and the Leslie speaker. It is also notable for having a long medley of songs on side two that have subsequently been covered as one suite by other notable artists.
