1859o Half-dollar, New Orleans Mint, SS Republic 1853-1865 Liberty Seated Half-dollar/ heraldic eagle, Ship wreck effect with Certificate of Authenticity and informational CD, encapsulated and in wood crafted box. Coin #1831038-047, the SS Republic was lost at sea by a hurricane in 1865. In 2003 Odyssey Marine Exploration, located the shipwreck at a depth of approximately 1,700 feet in the Atlantic Ocean about1oo Miles east of Savannah, Georgia.
