**THIS VEHICLE HAS NO RESERVE AND WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER**
Though the initial 4th-generation Corvette ZR1, released in 1984, handled nicely, it was underwhelming in the performance category, which began to impact sales. Understanding that performance was a necessity to compete in the marketplace, GM worked tirelessly to develop an in-house performance engine option of its own. Enter partner Lotus Group, acquired by GM in a 1985 deal. They began working in conjunction with Chevrolet to develop the aluminum-block 350ci V8. Dubbed the "King of the Hill," the highly anticipated all-new, high-performance Corvette made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1989. At the time, it was the highest-cost production car in the GM inventory. In 1990, GM built a mere 3,049 examples of the ZR1. This example, presented in red with a red interior, is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. Options include two tops and air conditioning, as well as power seats, windows and door locks. Showing just over 13,600 actual miles on the odometer, this Corvette is an extraordinary example of a milestone in Chevrolet performance history, making it an excellent addition to any collection. CARFAX shows General Motors safety recall on 10/01/1991: Safety belt retractors-left side; on 11/03/2007: mileage inconsistency. **PLEASE NOTE THIS LOT WILL NEED TO BE COLLECTED FROM SCOTTSDALE, AZ**
