Brake light powered by a six-volt alkaline battery with brake arm activated switch. Original manufactured 1948 Series 50 scooters did not include a brake light. The six-volt Magneto provides ignition. The scooter is equipped with a centrifugal automatic drum clutch transmission that does not shift, therefore only one gear. It is powered by the Cushman Husky two-piece 244cc 1-cylinder engine with 2.625-inch bore and 2.75-inch stroke. The engine was bored .30 oversized and fitted with a new piston and rings. Crankshaft was ground and fitted with .020 undersized bearing. A new standard equipment carburetor and air filter were installed. All new engine gaskets and seals were installed. It has the original manufacture furnished coil spring seat and generator. Manufacturer furnished aftermarket rail bumper, chrome fender wingtip, blue dot taillight lens, rear view mirror and Klaxon horn. Front wheel and headlight housing were chromed. Front steering fork and frame were powder-coated and the body, trunk lid and front fender were painted to match. Vehicle runs on unleaded gasoline and the engine oil used is Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil, SAE 30, for high-zinc protection of the push-rod and flat tappets. One quart capacity. Body is easily removable for engine, drive chain, rear tire and brake assembly maintenance. There are four front wheel knee action and two rear swing arm grease fitting zerks. One front fork oil opening provides lubrication to the front fork bushings. Three books are included A History Of The Cushman Motor Works by Bill Sommerville, The Complete Guide To Cushman Motor Scooters by Bill Sommerville and How To Rebuild The Cushman Cast Iron Engine by Jim Frederick.
