Lot of Two (2) Bolt Action Target Rifles: 1) Custom Winchester Model 52, #44044A, .22 LR cal., 26.25" replacement barrel, receiver finished in blue, barrel in the white, smooth walnut one-piece stock with a pistol grip added, sling swivels with front barrel band, globe style front sight, one rear sight block with the 2nd removed and tap holes filled with screws, a period aperture sight has been added and dovetailed into the rear bridge; 5-rd. Winchester marked detachable box magazine, with legible factory markings. Mfg'd 1936. Rifle is in good overall condition as customized. Replacement barrel has drifted to gray patina with scattered spots of corrosion and machining marks. Receiver retains the majority of the factory blue finish, with scratches and scattered spots of surface rust. Bottom metal shows thinning finish with moderate surface erosion and edgewear. Stock is good with indentations, stains and a half-inch chip missing at the toe. Pistol grip was pieced in during the period of use and does not quite match. Butt ends with a checkered steel shotgun style buttplate, providing a 12.75" LOP. Bore is very good with well-defined rifling, and the action functions smoothly with a crisp trigger. (C&R) 2) Savage Arms Model 1919 3rd Model N.R.A. Match, #29676, .22 LR cal., 25" barrel, blue finish, full-length smooth walnut one-piece pistol grip stock with finger groove, two barrel bands, sling swivels and period "NoBuckL" canvas sling, Marbles dovetailed knife blade front and standard elevator U-notch rear sight (missing elevator), rear peep sight removed with one hole filled and the second left vacant, correct Savage marked 5-rd. blue steel magazine with securing screw intact, and legible factory markings. Mfg'd 1923-1933. Rifle is in good overall condition, retaining traces of original factory finish in the protected areas, with staining, scratches, and spots of light surface rust along the barrel. Metal surfaces show thinning finish with light corrosion along the wood line. Bottom metal and trigger guard have gone to gray patina with spots of corrosion and light surface rust. Stock is good with numerous indentations, scrapes and small gouges, the worst being on the right side of the forend, between the barrel bands. Butt ends with a ribbed steel buttplate with the Savage Brave's Head monogram showing light to moderate surface rust, providing a 13.25" LOP. Bore is good with scattered spots of light pitting and corrosion, displaying visible rifling. Action functions well and this rifle would benefit greatly from a thorough cleaning. Est.: $600-$800/Lot.
