Huge ALLARD & SANDOZ Cylinder Music Box -- Amazing !!

Huge rosewood cased 80 Aire Music Box, manufactured by D. Allard & Sandoz of Geneva, Switzerland on a matching table with (10) 16" Cylinders (8 Aires per Cylinder). All of the cylinders are stored inside the table's 3 drawers. There are separate combs for the 9 Bells, Drum and Castanets. The double-comb system is known as: Sublime Harmony - where one comb can still vibrate when the same note is being played on another comb, additionally this allows longer-sounding bass notes creating an organ-like sound. There is a deal with a pointer indicating which melody is being played presently. D. Allard & Sandoz is known for creating larger music boxes with intricate mechanisms and organ-like sound, also called: 'Organocleid'. This piece is circa 1870.
