Steel crossguard with smooth wood scales and bird's head steel pommel marked "RA" in an oval. 2) Original Argentine Model 1909 Artillery Short Sword or Machete, in near excellent condition, with blue steel scabbard and green leather frog, #B05388, marked with a crisp crest at the ricasso, and "WEYERSBERG/KIRSCHBAUM &Co/SOLINGEN" on the reverse. Blade is excellent, still in packing grease, showing minor marks and no sharpening. Steel crossguard marked with a "P/X"; smooth wood scales and bird's head steel pommel marked "RA" in an oval. Scabbard is near excellent with a copper tip, and the green leather frog is near excellent with tight stitching. 3) Original WWI Swiss Model 1914 Pioneer Sawback Bayonet, #637385, marked Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, with steel scabbard. Bayonet is in fine overall condition, showing light scabbard marks and no sharpening. Smooth wood scales are fine with an unmarked steel pommel in the white. Steel scabbard retains significant japanned black finish scrapes and scratches. 4) Unmarked Short Sword with blue steel and leather scabbard. Short sword displays a near excellent blade with light scratches and tooling marks, blue steel handguard, crudely checkered wood scales with an extra coat of varnish, and blue steel bird's head pommel. Scabbard is near excellent with blue steel throat and tip. Body is stitched black leather with the only marking being "F" "I" on the hanger. A nice short or artillery sword that deserves further research. Est.: $400-$700/Lot.
